O Jesus, full of grace and charity, victim for sinners, so impelled by Your love of us that You willed to die on the cross, I humbly entreat you to glorify in heaven and earth, the servant of God, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, who generously participated in your sufferings, who loved You so much and laboured so faithfully for the glory of Your heavenly Father and for the good of souls. With confidence, I beseech You to grant me, through his intercession, the grace of (present your request here) which I ardently desire.
On each set of three beads say one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget you. You know how easily I abandon you.

I find it troubling when prayers are different from one place/site/publication to another. After the passing of time who is to know the original from the changed? There is a passage omitted in the concluding prayer according to the version in the Laudate iphone app. The missing passage is, “Stay with me Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your presence, oh yes, I ask this of You.” So which is the original as composed by Padre Pio?
I found a difference as well regarding the “Golden Arrow” prayer dictated by our Lord to Sr Mary of St Peters. In her Biography she wrote exactly the words to the prayer as given to her by our Lord. Yet in a prayer book called “Prayers and Heavenly Promises”, the publisher or some other well meaning soul though it appropriate to change the word “hells”, as dictated and explained by our Lord to Sr Mary, to “under the earth”. I find that disturbing, but perhaps our Lord is not offended as long as we pray and make reparations to Him and His Father.
